New Delhi: Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) confirms that much sought after film Padmavati will be relase with zero cuts next year. However, CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi made it clear that film will be released with five modification. He said we have no clarification about the release date of the film.
Padmavati to be released with 26 cuts and changed name
This paved the way for much awaited controversial movie Padmavati. However, if the source is to be believed, Censor board has imposed several conditions on Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the producer of the movie. before the release.
Sources said Bhansali is given a choice to change the name of his film for Padmavati to Padmavat. CBFC suggested the name on the request of Raj Parivar of the Rajputs. Board has also imposed not less than 26 cuts in the movie before giving it the U/A certificate. Censor Board use to give U/A certificate to the movie which could be seen by children below 12 years under the guidance of their parents.
CBFC had constituted a panel on the reference of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to monitor the content of the film. All the stakeholders related to the Rajput’s history were made part of the panel. Udaipur’s Arvind Singh Jaipur University’s professor Dr Chandermani Singh and professor K K Singh was part of the special panel.
Sources said Sanjay Leela Bhansali has to run a disclaimer at the beginning of the film stating that Padmavati is a fiction movie. It has nothing to do with the history. However, Bhansali and the company that produced the film has not given an official statement over the CBFC’s dictate.
It is believed in the film critics circuit that all the recommendation of the censor board will be accepted as there is no other way left for Bhansali and company to pave the way for release. Censor Board had sit with the panel on 28th of December and reviewed the film.
Karani saina, however, made it very clear in the TV interview that they will not let this movie to release in any cost. Padmavati has tampered the history of our Maa. They believe that film has glorified the Muslim king Alauddin Khilji and disgraced the Rajput history.
Apart from this, Karni Saina believes that some dream sequences of Deepika Padukone, who played the role of Padmavati, is shown with the Ranveer Kapur (Alauddin Khilji). Rajput samaj had also raised voice against the Deepika’s Ghoomer dance performance. Film Padmavati, which was expected to hit the silver screen in the beginning of the December can now be released on Republic Day.
