Grenade attack in Shopian leave troops, civilian injured

Srinagar: A Grenade attack in the Shopian district of Kashmir that took place on Tuesday leaves Seven civilians and a jawan injured.

A convoy of The Central Reserve Police Force was patrolling when the grenade was thrown by unidentified militant. A day before, outskirts of Srinagar, Pampore witnessed the attack The terrorists hide in the government building. Security forces encounter with them that last for more that 24 hours.

In counter-insurgency, paramilitary forces began firing back at the terrorists in the Entrepreneurship Development Institute. It started at about 6.30 am. Our force succeeded in neutralizing them after a day long encounter.

According to sources, Grenade explosions took place at the institute. Pakistan sponsored terrorists crossed river Jhelum and reached the institute in the boat. It is considered that terror attacks in the valley are in retaliation of the surgical strikes conducted across the Line of Control by Indian Army.

Earlier, in the month February, same building was attacked by militants in which Five soldiers and a civilian were killed while our force managed to kill all the three militants.
