Court refuses to give relief to acid attack convict of doctor

New Delhi: Taking a tough stand on crime against a woman, city court refuses to give relief to the juvenile who threw acid on a doctor. The court upheld three years jail term of Juvenile Justice Board which is maximum punishment as per the provisions.

Two juvenile in a motorcycle threw acid on the female doctor working in the ESI hospital at the behest of her one side lover, who was also working in the same hospital as a Doctor. Doctor Ashok along with his accomplice Vaibhav who dropped in the juvenile for the incident are facing trial in session court of Tees Hazari.

Additional Session Judge Pawan Kumar Matto while pronouncing the Judgement said the victim was unmarried and a doctor by profession. She had suffered such a grievous injuries caused by Juvenile in her right eyes and right side of her face, and she has to suffer for the whole of her life.

The court said Judgment of JJB does not suffer from any infirmity, illegality or perversity. Therefore, the impugned Judgment are upheld and the appeal filed by the appellant is hereby dismissed, being devoid of merit.

During the argument, Additional Public Prosecutor Pankaj Ranga contended that victim doctor was also robbed at the time of the incident. Her I-phone and two ATM were recovered from the Juvenile and other two Adult accused. CCTV camera installed near the place of the incident also prove their involvement.

Defense counsel H K Panda, who appear for one of the Juvenile had challenged the Juvenile Justice Board Decision. He said his client is at very small age. He misled to commit this crime by adult accused. Therefore, they deserve leniency in the case.

According to police, Victim got engaged somewhere in Rajasthan. Doctor Ashok who claim to be in a relationship with the victim annoyed with her engagement. He pressurized her to break the engagement and got married to him. when She refused, he decided to take revenge from her. Ashok roped his friend Vaibhav in the conspiracy who further roped two Juvenile of committing the crime.

Two Juvenile attacked the victim with acid on her face. They then robbed her belonging and run away from the spot
