New Delhi: Punjab Congress Chief Captain Amrinder Singh on Monday hit out at Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal for not presenting the state in the court effectively.

While interacting with ex-army men in Jalandhar, Captain said he would not mind going jail, but won’t give single drop of our water to the neighboring state, when his party comes in the power. He said he would violate the court order for the people of Punjab.

He reiterated that It is the Badal government, which is responsible for the debacle on the Satluj-Yamuna link water issue in the apex court. Had congress in power in the state, it would not let the water go into the Harayan’s Pocket.

Captain urges people of Punjab to make Congress party come to power with two-third majority so that that stern steps in the state interest could be taken. He said incumbent government fooled the people on water sharing  issue. We succeeded in getting 60 percent on the land, but we are given only 40 percent of water share comparatively. At the time of Punjab’s bifurcation, Haryana didn’t share with us the water of Yamuna river. If Satluj-Yamuna link canal is made, big sections of South Punjab will left parched. Over 10 lakh hectares land will face the problem of draught.
